hello...thank for the reply...i'm from malaysia....my father have a renault 17tl 1973...4 speed...since i was a baby...now i'm 22 years old....n now..i'm restoring the car....need help on parts...

A-door rubber window rubber...
b-drive shaft...
c-power window motor (left)
d-maybe later (5 speed gearbox..hahaha)

Je pense que c'est assez clair mais, au cas où cela ne le serait pas pour tout le monde, je me permets de faire un petit récapitulatif :

Nim et son papa ont une 1312 de 1973.
Ils cherchent :

- des joints de lève-vitre.
- des cardans
- un moteur de lève-vitre gauche.
- une boite 5 (moins urgent)

In the early 70's, RENAULT has exported in some countries of south east Asia.
I think the model you have, has U.K. spécifications.
May be you can always find a wreck, or spare parts in Malaysia?...

The first picture has been taken by a dutch tourist, I think almost 10 years ago.
I don't know where, but may be Dave know it. (Dave is a member from 15/17 club in NETHERLAND).
I am going to ask him for you, because I think this address could be an help for you.
There are many RENAULT in the street, and it should be a fanatic which stay there.

The second picture (the green RENAULT 17 TL) has been spotted by a malaysian in an airport of the country.
It's me who have found this photo, but I don't know if I have a luck to find the link again, today!

Change a 4-speed gear box to a 5-speed gear box isn't easy because it is necessary modify the car floor.
A 5-speed gear box is larger than a 4-speed gear box. Too we need a bigger dome. But that can be done.

ok michel..tq....but i can open the link that you gave....the gear box is later..i just want more speed...ahhaha..but is not very important....whats mean the oval plate..??is it the chasis number..???ok..tomorrow..i will send you the picture of the motor...the left motor is not original...i modify it...my father said..he change r15 door...its power window...but the motor is jam now...i have a sad story today...15 year ago..my father was lucky to buy a wreck r15 from his friend...the car was park at my gran father village...5 years ago..my grandfather pass away...the house was empty..no body there...3 days ago..the house has been robbed...2 r17 door(not power window manual) complete disc brake..original rims..dashboard...n front bumper..that was the list of the missing parts of r 17...just left rear bonnet,r15 back window..
seats..rear bumper..meters n gear liver...the rober took every metal in the house..air compressor,chainsaw,drill,air gun,air pump n etc...i was so disappointed....so i hope you guys..can help me find any parts...because in malaysia is hard to find r 17 parts...tq very2 much...tq you michel...

"Oval plate" is "plaque ovale" in french. The fabrication number is on it. Perhaps you have a rectangular plate instead of oval plate if the R17 is a export version.

It's the diamon plate ("plaque losange" in french). The serial number is ingraved on it.
