Embrayage Brevet Verto Empty
MessageSujet: Embrayage Brevet Verto   Embrayage Brevet Verto EmptySam 22 Juin - 2:49:32

I’m trying to reach someone in the Renault community that can tell me the meaning of the numbering system on the old Brevert Verto clutches used on many French cars back in the 70’s. Specifically, I am trying to find out the difference between 200 DB 325, 200 DBR 325, 200 DBR 350 and 200 DBR 375 clutches.

I know the 200 is the disc diameter in mm, and I think the “R” refers to a smaller diameter (34m) of the hole formed by the 18 spring plate fingers, and I suspect the 325, 350 and 375 numbers are the spring plate disengagement force in Kg -force units (not Newtons), but I am not sure. Maybe someone in the club knows for sure.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hello Marbroman,
from me:

- 200, diemeter
- DB or DBR, ?
- 375, force in DaN

Warning, there are 20 fingers (groove) in the disc.

Thank you very much for your answer.

My repair manual and "additive" M.R. 164 for the year and model (1974 - R1332- US spec. Renault 12 Break with 1,647 cc wedge head motor type 841-10) tells me that the 200 DB 325 and the 200 DBR 325 and also the 200 DBR 350 type Brevet Verto clutch can be used in the 1974 model as well as 1975 (200 DBR-350 can be used a substitute for 200 DBR 325).

I have the original clutch plate but there are no markings other than the words "Brevet Verto". I count 18 fingers on the flex plate springs.

I also have the original clutch disc too. I count 21 teeth (dents) for the spline.

Can anyone tell me what the "R" means in the 200 DBR 325 number. I think it might be the difference between the 38 mm hole in the center of the spring fingers in the "DB" type and 34 mm for the "DBR" type.

The 325 & 350 numbers is the disengagement force in decanewtons. Thanks!
