My dear friends,
I have news from Florida. As many know my state was hit with a massive hurricane. It made landfall on the west coast where there was horrific destruction and loss of life and propoerty.
The storm made its way directly to where we now live and we were much more fortunate as the storm lost much of its strength and we were slightl higher up, about 3m over sea level.
I just shot a quick youtube video of the remains of the storm as it passed over our house, winds are likely about 110kph.
Thank you for caring my dear friends.
Amicale,
Steve

Update modification:
Hello all. I am not sure all know, it goes back to 1976 we got our R17 Gordini softtop. The 1976 was the first year that the softtop with what I would call roof rain gutters. My friend in Texas Mike (Deak Mihaly) I carefully removed a set off of one of his cars, polished it to like knew and sent it to me.
It is very hard to explain but this modification to make my 75 to a 76 means quite a bit to me. I can remember holding my hand out driving and holding onto the rain gutters like hand grips. Not for cornering but just driving and enjoying the experience.
They also helped out quite a bit from rain getting into the car if the windows were left open.
Thank you Mike, thank Michel, thankyou all my Amicale friends.
Steve
Installation with his expert pictures and advise made things extremely easy.
In the end I used JB Weld to lock into place.

All,
I hope you are all well.
The last few years have very hard with the loss of friends and family. The last few weeks very hard. My mom entered the end of her journey entering hospice and passed away a week ago tomorrow.
I know this might sound different, but my friendship with this group and the friends I have made have given me peace and a place to enjoy life.
I wanted to share this with you all!
With that I have a question.
I am thinking of removing my gear shift knob for a new one.
How would you suggest removing the knob?
Is there a simple way to remove?
Thank you all for your friendship and kindness over the years!
Your friend
Amicale
Steve

Hi Steve, These are really sad news. We are so sorry for you, knowing how hard it can be…
Maybe you should plan later a little trip to France, for example around July, in Britain (Estivale 2023), where we could have fun all together. Anyways, you know that you will be welcome at anytime
For the shift knob, you just have to pull it straight up (well, it is like that on mine)
Friendly yours, Patrice

Steve, I'm sincerely sorry for your mom. Courage for this painful after.
Let us think about your next visit to France.
Often the gear lever knob is very difficult to remove because it is fitted on a strongly notched part (knurling).
